Merielle @ Tamaki Primary School: Should Zoos exist?

Merielle @ Tamaki Primary School: Should Zoos exist?: Should Zoos exist? I think that animals should be kept in zoos because  scientist can study the animals so we can know more about them ...

Hi this is another student blogpost and she has just started her blog and she has done such a good first time. Go Merielle!.

Should zoos exist? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Should animals be kept in the zoo?
I think that zoos should exist, this is one of my favourite reason why, I think animals should be kept in zoos because there is a breeding program to look after them.

In my personal opinion I agree that animals should be kept in zoos, for example if animals are stuck in the wild the predators will come for them as if the are dinner, breakfast, and lunch but if they are in the zoo the zoo keepers around the world will try to make sure no predators will come into the zoo to attack the animals as the zoo keepers will protect them. (25 dangerous predators)

My 2nd reason why I think animals should be kept in zoos is because the zoo keepers try to make the zoo look exactly like the animals home for example there is a 40% chance that the animals will not get homesick because of the plants, water, and nature species it will feel home just a bit more safer and trustworthy . The other 60% chance can actually happen because even though the zoo looks like there home the surroundings look the same most animals know it is fake, so there is a chance of animals getting homesick, you can tell if the animals are losing their appetite, not eating, growling, and also for most animals will have a sore stomach and get constipated (Native Remedies website). You might be think what if the plants is not enough for the animals to storage in there stomachs, well that's when you are wrong because in most countries in the universe the animals will get more food than you could get in a restaurant. (Commtechlab)

The last reason I think animals should be kept in zoos is because after the animals get taken care of the animals will be taken back to the wild for example for a couple years and then once they are properly care of, bonus fact the before the animals come to the zoo some scientist checks the animal's DNA to make sure they would become extinct in the wild and are dangerous to make sure they don’t attack the crowd, I hope you agree with me for why animals should be kept in the zoo. (Animal science)

These three reasons, opinions, and examples are why I think that animals should be kept in the zoo.

Samoan conversation part 2

Today for Samoan language me and my buddy Stanley did a Dlo to explain our learning for a Samoan conversation.

WAL how much sugar is in different drinks.

Today Room 7 calculated and solved how much sugar were in different drinks, which Miss Ashley searched for, Miss Ashley had drink some, Miss Morrison gave some to Miss Ashley, (Some were even in the Rubbish Bin). Here is a story and picture if you get confused with the words.

We firstly had to see how much sugar was in the drinks Miss had picked out.

Secondly for some drinks we had calculated the per serve to actually find how much was in the drink

Third a random person Miss Ashley had chosen, had to put in a sugar into a type scale machine, while the other people had to tell the person to STOP when the needle had landed on the right amount.

Lastly we put the amount of sugar in the bag, and we put the bottle next to the finished project (SUGAR).

During this activity I found out that the drink V is 26.05 and Coca Cola can is 27 which means Coca Cola is 0.5 more grams then V. I enjoyed this activity. Ohh bonus tip 'I took the photos'.

The food Pyramid

WALA the FOOD pyramid.

Our Inquiry topic for inquiry, for this term (Term 2) is Fuelling food. Which means learning about the types of food were eating and  how that food is good for your body.

We firstly cut up some foods from a countdown catalogue.

Secondly we had to get  a glue stick and attach to the piece of paper she had given us.

My favourite food is Popcorn and Chicken, I think popcorn should be some and Chicken is quite healthy so I could start eat more.

More detail…
WHAT WAS THE GALLIPOLI CAMPAIGN?The campaign is a place where WW1 was. It was in Gallipoli peninsula from 25 April 1915 and 9 January 1916.

Here are some key questions for you to think about.
  • Why did World War 1 start? The whole world started war because one country killed another country’s very important person and that is how war started it. Who started it? Where did it start?Russia because Hitler was located there. Hitler made a decision to   kill brown haired and brown eyed people around the world, which started WW2.
  • What caused it? A decision that was created by Hitler which people disagreed with, which was to kill brown haired and brown eyed people around the world.
  • Who was involved? Germany, Italy,  Japan. Britain, France,Australia,Canada,New Zealand, India,China, the Soviet union and the united states of america.
  • What were the two teams called, and which countries were on which team? The Axis Powers, had Germany, Italy and Japan. The Allies (other side) had the countries  Britain, France, Australia,Canada, New Zealand, India, China and USA. These countries are commonwealth countries.
  • Where did the fighting happen? The fighting happened in the countries Britain, France, and Russia. Because these were where the war was beginning to happen, which went really horrifying at the end.
  • Why do New Zealanders celebrate ANZAC day? To remember those who fought for us in the WW1 and WW2.
  • How many Kiwis died at ANZAC Cove? 7,000000 people died and 2,000000 people were wounded
  • Where is ANZAC Cove? It is a small cove hidden in  Gallipoli peninsula
  • Where else (countries, cities) did Kiwis fight? Kiwis fought against each other because of the decision making of killing  brown haired and brown eyed people around the world. that most people agreed with.
  • What was life like for soldiers during the war? It was very tough and scary because you can risk your life or say bye to the people you love, but the people you love are the ones you're saving.
  • Who were the Nazi’s? Hitler’s crew to kill the other team so that there would only be blue eyes and blonde hair people on earth.
  • Why were people fighting them? Because they were the ones killing people all around the universe of NZ, AUSSIE, USA, and many others on earth.
