Marias Work

Here is my Reflection if you can't see it on the DLO.

Today we went to Te Tuhi to learn about the history of Aotearoa New Zealand.

We first started off by doing these artworks that we created. The Artwork we did was etching how we did it, it was that we got a letter from a sentence that had 46 characters. For the artwork we did a block letter and then we designed the background with things that we enjoy the most about New Zealand.

After the artworks we went and learnt about these two artist, the first artist we learnt about was John Veau, while we were learning about the arts of John Veau, Salome (Our guidance) Told us about his artwork. John Veau’s artwork is about how people have to work and they just stand and looking around, the name of his artwork from his friend and it is called “Enjoy this moment, don’t be like me and be here for life”. After learning  about John we moved onto this Mexican artist and her name is Maria, Maria made a sculpture out of pantie hoes because she said that clothes to cover the body or to show less apparently shows who you are on the inside so she used the material of pantie hoes material because the material is really see through. This is why Marias sculpture was called “Invisible”.

I would like to say thank you to Salome for giving us the opportunity to do some Fun artwork and learning about these other famous artists in New Zealand Aotearoa. Thank you to the teachers as well for planning for the trip and our parents letting us go.

In conclusion this was a really fun day and I hope we can come back. Please comment what you enjoyed about this reflection, Thanks.
