Tonight I will be doing my 8th growth mindset quote bubble, I think, because I really need to start blog like I used to.  The quote that I have chosen is one that I made for one of my friends Grace to hear and I thought that I share this quote to my audience. I love this quote I have put in this blog because it seems like something that I am going to remember in my head through difficult times or if I ever feel I should lift myself up during a hard, test or simply just anything difficult in your life.

This quote means that people who put others down only do that because instead of telling themselves and putting themselves down or trying to lift themselves up would just like to prefer to put others down.

So it was the usual Saturday and I had to wake up at 7:00 am to get ready for a netball game and to get ready less than 30 minutes to celebrate a 12th birthday for one of my best friends, Hevani. How did I manage to get ready and do during the birthday? Keep reading to find out!

So as I was saying I had to wake up at 7:00am in the morning to get dressed, have breakfast, drop my sister off at her game, make sure my baby brother Stephen was ready and to get to my netball game for my team, Manurewa Marlins. It was a pretty busy
morning but I was ready because I knew what the day was looking for the day and I wanted to give it my all in this game since it was our last game for the season. Since I had to get to the courts at 8:00am to practise for before the game to get warmed up and energised, the only problem with having a packed schedule was that our time kind of delayed to I ended up getting to the game around about 8:45am which means I had to hop off the first quarter and warm up in that time. I was ready to play on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter because I really didn't wanna let the team down and lose our last game of the year. I think I did pretty well in my game because I got a lot of deflections, intercepts and defence which I was very proud of since I played as the WD (Wing Defence) in my game. So we had finished in a win and the final score was 24-16 and so we had beaten the opposite team by 12 points and as much as I wanted to dance it was 10:00 am so I had to leave the courts, return the uniform, grab the netball photo, go have a shower, get ready and get Hevanis present ready; We got home about 10:30 so I was in such a huge rush and the first thing you would have seen my do was rushed inside and get into the bathroom to have a shower. It was 10:45 and I was ready and heading out to the mailbox to go and get ready for Hevani and her brother, Samson, to come and pick me up. I got Hevani an emoji pillow, slime and a bunch of her favourite snack... OREOS!!!

I saw a van come and all I saw were my friends Lydia, Stephney, Arizona and Hevani jumping in the car like a bunch or crazy but very excited people (Grace didn't come because she had Netball Photos and she wasn't sure where we were). I got in the van and we headed out to the Manukau Gravity, I was really excited because I love trampolines and doing front flips and front handsprings since I was about 6 but didn't start landing them till I was 10 years old; When we got to gravity I was the only one who was wearing the proper socks so Hevani, Lydia, Stephney and Arizona had to get new socks
 from there. We were heading to the trampoline area and I was ready to jump and to do some tricks and flips on the trampolines. I think my friends were very surprised because even though I told them I could and loved doing these tricks I felt like they didn't really believe me until birthday. At Gravity we saw there was a dodgeball area so it was Lydia, Hevani and I verses Arizona and Stephney; Stephney and Arizona Won! After Dodgeball we decided to go to the bounciest trampoline and jump into the pit because why not, you could jump as hard and high as you wanted and it wouldn't really hurt because the place where you would land was a soft area with a lot of foam cubes in a pit so there would be no chance of us getting hurt. After a while we decided to do a race and we had to start from the main/bounciest trampoline there and we had to jump off it in to the pit bounce across the 4 trampolines on the floor to jump on this landing position, grab the basketball from Samson (Hevani's Brother) to shoot a hoop into the big and tiny goals then onto the other landing position; The winning order was:
1. Hevani
2. Samson
3. Edith (Me)
4. Lydia

I was pretty happy with my score because I knew that I tried my best and that was enough.

We were finished at Jump and then we went to the Event Cinemas across the road. We first started off by just playing around at the gaming area taking photo's in the photo booth and playing basketball, air hockey and etc; Once were finished in the gaming area sadly we got a call from Grace's mum saying that they couldn't make it because they had turned up to the wrong cinemas but that was okay because we weren't going to let that in our way of celebrating Hevani's Birthday! We got in the cinema we were chosen to go to and we decided to watch the movie, Skyscraper, starring the one and only

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, which was very exciting. This movie was about how former FBI Agent, Will Sawyer, has lost his leg he has an assignment to China for the worlds apparently tallest and safest building, he then get framed for causing a firre to the building but then later realizes his family is trapped in the building and must find a way to show that he is innocent and to save his family, VERY WORTH WATCHING!!!! I really enjoyed watching this movie and I definitely recommend for you to watch it. After the movie we all got really thirsty so we headed off to Mcdonalds which was delicious because I got a Big Mac and a LnP soft drink.

After we had Lunch we headed off to our houses and sadly I was the first to get dropped off but that was okay because then I knew that I could have a headstart to do this reflection.

Today I am going to be blogging about the museum trip we had on Friday. Just like Tuesdays reflection I am going to be writing on the blog what I enjoyed, need to work on etc; So lets get it started!

My next steps for when I go to the museum is to:

- Think more deeply about the project.
- Trying not to talk too much during the project

- Explore and create different kind of natural disasters

- Figure out ways to use the different kind of technologies for Maths or Writing and etc.

Things I found challenging and easy:

Challenging:

- Trying to find a way to draw what we were going to say

- Getting to know how to use all of the tech equipment to make our videoes and to save it to the folder

- Figuring out what to draw for our natural disaster in a fun way

Easy:

- I found being able to relate to my buddies about the topic very easily because our thoughts always seem to combine and come in a sequence.

- I found being able to learn in a very new and exciting place easy

- I found fidgeting with all the stuff easy and fun!

Now that I have discussed what I found challenging, easy and next steps. I now  think it is now time for me to show you my reflection!

This term for writing we are learning about... POETIC WRITING!

I was really excited for Poetic Writing because I have loved listening, writing, reading and doing anything related to poems since I was 4 YEARS OLD! 

We had our lesson with Ms. Komor and she had showed us the structure we had to use for writing which is... THE S.L.A.M STRUCTURE. The S.L.A.M structure is an acronym that is created to make these separate slots known as 

S - STRUCTURE

L - LANGUAGE

A - AFFECT

M - MESSAGE

This acronym means to use the correct structure, to have figurative language, the affects of something or someone and the message at the ending. Some of the poems that people to write with are Limerick, Haikus, acrostic and many more; I was really excited to hopefully learn more about them for the time that we are learning about poetic writing because, well, why not?

If I were to define or instruct of what poetic writing is; I believe poetic writing is when you are describing about how you feel in a certain situation and then you try to tell the audience without telling the audience. In our session of writing we had to use poetic writing to write about how we felt in one of the natural disasters. I decided to write about the natural disaster, landslide, because this picture of a poem of a landslide really inspired me to write a poem about landslides which is why I did.

The Earthquake has finished and everything was fine,

I then see dirt, rocks, and grass all combined.

It all slips down like a melting Ice cream on a cone,

My everything is destroyed; my car, myself, my home.

I’m lying down and I feel like i’m buried in a grave,

My mind cannot be suddle, all my heart is in a cave,

Im looking at the dirt as its blinded me at last,

I didn’t know when to move, it just came down really fast.

I’m having such a hard time to breathe,

My life has been stolen by a really dirty thieve.

My mind, my heart and my thoughts are a mess,

I feel I’m gonna die, but that thought just won’t process.

Today is Monday and So I have decided to do a reflection on how we went to the Museum last week on Tuesday (I know I am REALLY late), but that is why I wanted to create this blog and also a reflection about our time on Friday.

My next steps for when I go to the museum is to:

- Interact more with others and think more deeply about how people felt during the natural disaster
- Be able to remember 3-5 fun facts about Volcanoes

- Explore and experience different kind of natural disasters

- Figure out ways to use the different kind of technologies for Maths or Writing and etc.

Somethings that I would change for the next time we would go to the museum would be:

- I would make the Shaking house more shakable

- I would have one room filled with facts about the natural disaster and another half of the room more arts and crafts

- Make the volcano explode with orange foam or something

- Have a quiz at the end of each exhibition 

Things I found challenging and easy:

Challenging:

- Trying to find the answers to the questions we had to fill out

- Getting to know how to use all of the tech equipment

- Having to wait till Friday for our next session

- Brainstorming and figuring out what to create to show our natural disaster in a fun way

Easy:

- I found being able to relate to others when learning about the topic very easy

IALT: Reflect on the museum trip!

As you guys might know my birthday was last Thursday but I celebrated it on the Saturday and blogged about it today! (I had turned 12). I was pretty bummed out on my birthday because I had strained my left wrist and ankle which was pretty sore so I had to go to the doctors and an X-ray, since this happened my mum probably wanted to cheer me up so she said that I could go to Sylvia park with my friends, so here is my reflection about it!

So it was a Friday and I couldn't really do anything physical since my foot and wrist was sore so I decided to do something not physical. My mum and I talked about going to watch a movie with my friends. I originally wanted to watch the movie, ' Hotel Transylvania 3' , but that was starting at 3:00 and we know we can't wait that long so we decided to watch, 'Incredibles 2', I was really excited to watch the movie because I was absolutely in love with part 1 and it had been one of my favourite movies since I was 2 years old; the only thing was that one of my friends Hevani had already seen the movie but it was also helpful because I get confused a lot so she would be the person I would go to for questions. After the movie was sussed out I sent an email to my friends saying that I was going to be celebrating my birthday by watching a movie, my mum would be supervising and paying and that would mean that my friends would not have to bring money. We had also planned to go to McDonald's for lunch after the movie. It was about 9 at night and I got messages from Grace, Lydia, Hevani and Arizona saying that they were able to come and we were all excited! I was so excited I could NOT go to sleep!

It was Saturday and I was getting ready, I was going to wear my ripped jeans, a yellow hoodie and just a black shirt. My mum, brother and I were leaving at 11:00 to pick up my friends. We first picked up my friend Hevani because she had lived the farthest so it would've been easier for my mum. I went to her house and knocked on her door and I could see that we were feeling the same way excited but nervous, we felt these ways because we were excited to hang out but nervous because it was our first time. Next we went to go pick up Grace, it was super funny and Hevani and I were laughing because not only did grace look like her mum but my mum drove right past her and we could see was Grace running towards us and us reversing. It was hilarious. Now stop 3 was at Lydia's house, and our last stop was Arizona. I was really grateful because Lydia and Hevani bring me presents or a card and I was really thankful. So we were on our way to Sylvia Hoyt's and we got the tickets, so we all know that at the cinemas food there is way too expensive so like any other  person we went to the Pak n Save and brought treats from there, we had hid all the snacks in Arizona's bag. I felt mischievous. The movie began but and we were crawling on the floor to pass on snacks and I am pretty sure we were the loud, annoying kids that you just couldn't get rid of. It was hilarious! I also got a gift from my friend Lydia and it was a 3 page long card, Kim Kardashian perfume and also the happiness we had at the birthday! Here is a photo of what she gave me!

So fast forwarding over the Movie we all decided to that we were hungry so like I said we were going to go to McDonalds. Arizona, Grace, Hevani and Lydia all got Big Macs but I decided to get a Quarter pounder because it is not too big or too little it is just enough for me. We are all sitting at this table and my mum messages my uncle to bring my sister to the Mcdonalds to have lunch with us so they came. I used my uncles phone to take just a silly photo and so I did and also when uncle had returned we asked if he could take some pictures of us until my brother, Jose', thought it would be a funny idea to photo bomb us so he did, here is the video:

It was a very funny moment and I will remember the faces we made when he done it which looked like this:

But hey all jokes aside and the photo ended up being very lovely and it is just such a great memory that I will have forever in my mind! Here is the photo:

So after we took the photo we asked my sister Raena to take a slow-mo video of us so that we could add music and that it would hopefully look good. We used the song 'Dura' from Daddy Yankee and here is the video:

Overall I had such a great time with all of my friends and I really want to do it again in about 2 weeks for my other best friends birthday, Hevani. I am so happy to have had this experience to happen and I CANNOT WAIT to do it again!

So a few days ago one of my best friends, Grace, had reached to 200 blogs! I am really proud of Grace because it is a really big accomplishment and she has really changed her attitude and positivity to learning! Grace you are an intelligent, hardworking and AWESOME friend, classmate, student and student leader and you deserve where you are today.

 I am so proud of Grace for reaching 200 blogs sos that is why I have decided to decorate a card. This card is going to be much different than my usual cards because instead of expressing my proudness of Grace with words, I have decided to use photos of special times that I have had with Grace!

Question of the blog -  What is the biggest achievement you or one of your friends has accomplished?

Fun fact - Grace and I have been friends for only 3 years but our bond with our other friends have grown VERY STRONG!

So I know that I have NOT been blogging but I have a very good reason so nobody have to tell
Ms. Komor and Ms. Aireen alright :D, nope just joking. So the reason that I have not been blogging is because to be honest I have been slacking. I have had a very busy schedule recently like in fact I have band, student leader jobs, netball, family occasions so I have not had the time to blog. I know that I am trying to blog 2 times a day but to be honest I am a person that would do a lot of things for a whole entire day instead of doing a little bit of things everyday because I find it easier, but hey we have different opinions!

I hope you guys can understand and I will be bringing back the routine of trying to blog more, I PROMISE!

IALT: Explain about the research I have done on landslides!

Today I am going to be showing you guys my explanation writing about the things I have found about landslides. In my writing I have included the speeds of landslides, how they usually happen and how dangerous landslides can be.

•  During this task I had enjoyed working with Faka'ata, another year 7 student, because we both had worked very collabritivaley and we had so much fun researching about landslides. 

• Something I found challenging about this task was coming up with an example because I tried to give an explanation that the audience could relate to. 

• My next steps if we did this task again wa trying to stay on task instead of talking.

During this task we had to use the S.E.E.E structure and if you don't know what the S.E.E.E structure is well, the S.E.E.E structure stands for:

S - Statement

E - Explain

E - Example

E - Effect

Landslides are rocks, dirt and debris combined on a slope. Debris flows are one of the most dangerous landslides in the world.

Landslides are caused very easily due to floods, melting snow, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes; Landslides are mostly caused after earthquakes because the cliffs and hills are usually unstable after an earthquake leads some of the land on a higher ground to drift off and end up on the road or even possibly humans. An example of landslides occurring is if you were to pile up a bunch of books together and then you make on little shift all of those books have a chance of crumbling to the ground. As a result earthquakes are the reasoning for landslides to occur.

Landslides can have different amount of speeds and they can go really fast or either really slow; Landslides can last many years.  Landslides can also move of the speed of 200 miles (322 km) per hour. Common landslides can move of the speed as 10 miller per hour or 35 km per hour.  An example is if you throw a ball hard the faster it will go (like the bigger an earthquake the faster the landslide) where the softer you through the ball the slower and least farther it goes. An outcome of this is that landslides can be unique in speed levels.

Landslides are really dangerous and can cause real horrific damage. We all know that landslides can be pretty dangerous on their own but the more you study about them the more you realise that landslides are REALLY DANGEROUS; and they can cause real damage. As something to backup my statement is that in fact of the year, 2013, a flooding in India caused a lot of landslides to happen and 5,000 people were killed and also in 2014 un Oso, Washington a landslide had covered an entire neighbourhood in mud. The outcome of landslides being dangerous are that people can be affected really badly due to these experiences.

I have had such an incredible but exhausting day so it is that time of day to go to sleep and dream. I am so happy because tomorrow is Technology, Band, my little brother Stephen is coming home from our nans house and of course... TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY! I cannot wait for tomorrow and although I am SUPER tired to stay up I am also SUPER hype for tomorrow because it is really exciting!

Tomorrow is a very special day for me because today I will be turning 12 years old. I am very excited for tomorrow because well I will be turning a different age and it is just a sign that I am growing up and getting older. I am the oldest out of my group of friends and although it doesn't seem like that I am! Although I am not going to be celebrating my birthday I am very excited for not only my brother, Jose's, birthday it will soon be one of my best friends birthday, Hevani; for her birthday we will be going to Gravity and then the movies which I am super excited for; she will also be turning 12!

So that is all for the blog and I just wanted to blog about how my birthday is tomorrow and that this is my last day of being 11.

Today I am not going to be going to school because I don't feel that well so I will also not be attending Whanau Conference (Sorry Ms. Komor and Ms. Aireen); but there is still a chance I can come. I hope I feel better by tomorrow because tomorrow is Technology and also... ITS MY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW! I am very happy to hopefully celebrate my birthday with my friends, classmates and also my family. I don't really want to celebrate my birthday big because I would rather just treat it like a regular day and just a "Happy Birthday" from friends is a fine gift for me!

Other than that I just wanted to say "Good Morning" because we have all had an AMAZING SLEEP now time to go to work/school; Unless your sick.
