🥚Technology Cooking - Quiche🥚

🥚Technology Cooking - Quiche🥚
Malo lelei unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

As you know on Thursdays is the day where we have Technology and so today we had cooking. This session was going to be the last technology for Term 3 because it is the last week. I had came late to school so I had to get my mom to just drop me off the college. Little did I know that the band members actually had to stay at school and not go to Tamaki College today because the morning block would have been the only block they were allowed to rehearse. Although I was a bit upset about not going to band I was also very excited for cooking because for the first time Grace was my partner for cooking and we had been planning to be cooking partners since term 1 so we were both really excited!

Before we started on the actual cooking we had gotten a little word from our teacher, she was saying how we don't coming to cooking class to eat, we come there to learn helpful life lessons on how to make simple but delicious food. We had written down the 4 main instructions which are,
  1. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
  2. READ INSTRUCTIONS CORRECTLY
  3. KNOW HOW TO MEASURE CORRECTLY
  4. SHOW RESPECT
These instructions are what we need to be showing all the time and inside of the class while cooking. TOday we were going to be making quiche and the ingredients we would need were -
  1. Two slips of pastry
  2. Ham
  3. 4 eggs
  4. Oven
  5. Knife
  6. Muffin Tray
  7. Whisk
  8. Cheese
And lastly the additude to do it.
  • You first off start by cutting the pastries into circles with a cup or round object and then placing them in the muffin tray.
  • Then combining diced ham, cheese and 4 cracked eggs into a mixed bowl.
  • Later on pouring the ingredients in the big bowl into the muffin trays nice and easily measured out.
  • Now putting it into the oven at 250 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • Dig your knife in to make sure that it is ready once it is brown and fully cooked.
After you are finish your remaining quiche should look like this:

Here is a photo of mine and Graces quiche:

I hope you enjoyed this blog and I dare you to comment what you think I can improve, would you try this recipe out and what you would change about this meal.

A fun fact is that the more egg yolk you have is the more greasier your quiche would be.

🎨My Cultural Artwork - A Random Blog🎨
Talofa lava unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

Today after school I was at my home and although I love blogging I really felt like drawing today. I decided to combine the 3 most common cultural patterns into a drawing (The cultures are Maori, Tongan and Samoan). I have gotten an inspiration by our production we are getting ready to share next week on Tuesday, I was really inspired by all of the groups cultures and how they are sharing there natural disasters based on there story and cultures. Everyone is going all out with the costumes, props and tapa cloths so I felt expressing how I feel into a drawing.

I have gotten inspired and learnt how to do these patterns based on these images I have been looking at:

I hope you can recognise the patterns I have used in my drawing and I hope you like it. My drawing is a bit rushed but I still love it and I hope to do my artworks like this in the future and even hopefully at school!

Here it is:

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post and tell me what you think of my drawing and if I should keep on doing it in future blogs. Comment what blogs you would like to see, what I can improve on and if you can find the patterns that I have used from the following photos. Fun Fact - I used a pen while drawing, so one simple mistake would have been quite hard to recover.

Image result for band gifAs you know, on Thursdays we have Technology at Tamaki College but unfortunately some people won't be attending but for a really good reason and that reason is... there is a powhiri for Mrs. Fepuleai at her new school were some of our students will be performing and at the school Nga Iwi from 9:00am till just before lunchtime, We are going to miss Mrs. Fepuleai more than anything but I know that we will still have her apart of the Tamaki whanau because once apart of the Tamaki Family, always apart of the Tamaki Family. Mrs. Fepuleai is a very caring, kind and lightening up the mode kind of a person and I believe that it is very rare to have a Mrs. Fepuleai in your life and I will miss her.

Image result for sports gifs netball After we come back from the powhiri we will be heading into lunch and into Maths since Ms. Aireen will be getting watched from some people, but the band might not be there since we might have Band Practise with Caleb in the Music room but I am fine with any option because I know either will be fun. After school we will be having training with our coach Faith to train for the cluster tournament next week on Friday where we will be versing a lot of other primary schools which I am excited for. During training we are going to be finding out who has filled in the 2 spots left in the team on late notice and I am really hoping they are my 2 best friends who have unfortunately not made it the first time, Hevani and Lydia.

Those are my plans for tomorrow so I just wanted to let you guys know why I won't be blogging that much. I would love for you guys to comment what you think I can improve on and one thing you are looking forward to tomorrow or any day of the week. Here is a fun fact - This is the first team that I have ever been in with my best friends.

Mrs. Fepuleais new school!

Kia ora unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

This week and next week is going to be very sad because unfortunately Mrs. Fepuleai will be leaving the Tamaki Whanau but fortunately she will be sent away in a powhiri to a new school in Māngere, Nga Iwi.

Tomorrow 12 students (including me) have been chosen to go to the powhiri at Nga Iwi to sing to waita's for Mrs, Fepuleai which are, Te Aroha & Tamaki E, which I am very proud to lead and I hope I can do an amazing job as the other students will. This does mean that we will be missing out on Technology but it is a very good reason and I would rather pass an amazing teacher onward instead of going to Technology.

Mrs. Fepuleai
One memory that I will cherish with Mrs. Fepuleai was Science class. Mrs. Fepuleai took our Science class and she would tell us about the phases of the moon and how the pattern goes; now I love looking at the moon and admiring its different shapes, I loved having to do our science project and I knew the second that I saw Mrs. Fepuleai see our project my face glowed up because she just smiled and I was SUPER proud of myself. I am going to miss Mrs. Fepuleai and her smile that shines everyday and although she is living she will still be at our school with the memories.

I will miss you Mrs. Fepuleai and I wish you the best of luck and your new school as the principal. I hope you enjoyed this blog and Please comment your favourite memory with your favourite teacher and a fun fact is, I have never had Mrs. Fepuleai as my teacher until this year!

Team from Last year

In case you didn't know there is a netball cluster tournament I am apart of including other Kia Manawanui Syndicate Students and we usually have training after school on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday's after school from 3:00 pm till 4:30 pm. Sadly it had been raining today so today's training had been cancelled which is sad because it was one of things that I was looking forward to because I was going to be focusing on my Physical side. Myself and some friends were waiting under the shelter nearby room 1 waiting for Faith think that if we weren't going to have training out we would probably have training in the hall but we didn't. When Faith arrived she said that she was sorry but there would be no training today and that she would tell us who the people filling in the 2 available spots in the team, I am hoping they are 2 of my other best friends Hevani and Lydia because I know that they are committed and will do anything for the team, but sadly Faith didn't tell us today but will be telling the whole team on Thursday or Fridays training. She also said that next it is raining on a training we would probably and hopefully to train at the courts at Faith's school, Tamaki College.

Besides training being cancelled I had an exciting day with all of our stuff like Assembly, Maths and practising for the production.

Fun fact - I have been playing Netball since I was about 4 years old.
Fun fact pt.2 - Grace and Tevita are captains and Demetrius and Constance are Co-captains.

Question - Whats your favourite sport? (Mine is Netball obviously!)

☕✏️Procedural Writing - Milo✏️☕

☕✏️Procedural Writing - Milo✏️☕

Talofa Lava unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!
On Monday the KM (Kia Manawanui) Syndicate were learning a new type of writing known as Procedural Writing since we have learnt about Poetry and Explanation writing and we are finish with those kind of writings. During our previous lessons I have learnt that there are secret tips to do different kind of writings like as an example for Explanation writing you use the S.E.E.E Structure which stands for:
Since explanation writing has the S.E.E.E Structure, Poetry writing just has all the language features especially Personification and Similes but it is up to you what language features you are going to be adding -
Image result for language features

I'm not fully sure if there is a secret tip to Procedural but I think it is the step by step process because we have learnt the Procedural Writing is a kind of writing you use to use the process of something and if I were to define procedural I would say that -
"A step by step process using a certain method with clear instructions".

For our lesson of lesson about Procedural writing we had to get into get in groups of 4 or 4 (My group was Grace, Stephney, Hevani and I) and write instructions for how to do something; we had been chosen to do instructions on how to make a Milo. We tried to be REALLY clear of how it goes. After we had written our instructions we had to swap it with another group and follow there exact ways of how they have written it down like if they had written sneeze after one instruction we would have to try sneeze; I was really excited to swap groups because the group we swapped with was Perenara's, Kalebs and Mahara's group, and there instructions were also to make a milo.

Here are the groups:

After we had tested out there instructions on how to make a Milo we had to leave some feedback and feedforward. Our groups thought that they could have been more specific as an example, They said to add as much sugar and milo as we want which made the milo really sweet. Some feedback is how they were very organised with there decisions which I found great!

Something I think I can improve on is making sure the we might add a bit more sugar and milo since Perenara's group thought it was a bit watery. What I enjoyed was being able to test out something new and learning a new kind of writing in a fun way!

📚Duffy Assembly - Special guest, Michel Mulipola📚

📚Duffy Assembly - Special guest, Michel Mulipola📚
Kia ora unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

This morning we had an Assembly with a very special role model, 'Michel Mulipola'; Michel Mulipola is a wrestler, illustrator, writer  and an amazing role model who we were very lucky to have and come visit our school.

Today we are going the be having a Duffy Assembly this morning which I am SUPER PUMPED for because we are going to be having Michel Mulipola as our role model for the Duffy assembly! In case you don't know who Michel is, well Michel is a illustrator and a well known wrestler who is very creative and have always been a huge comic book fan which is why he wanted to become and author! I was going to be a part of the student leaders that would be hosting but instead of speaking to the audience I was playing the music and hopping on the stage to show the school what the actions are to the traditional duffy song we use. Here is the link to the song - Duffy Song. Here is the video

That's the book Michel wrote!

We were in the video and getting all the classes ready for the exciting assembly ahead that we were all excited for and I knew that the whole school was going to love. He came and told us about why he loves to write comics and how he was reading and drawing comic books at a really young age, and how he started wrestling when he was only 24 years old. He said he was really inspired by the comics X-Men, Spiderman, Green Lantern and any comic book he could find because was so into them. One of the most famous wrestler Michel Mulipola had versed was AJ Style and now him and AJ are friends ever since Michel made a book based on his passion for wrestlers which many wrestlers and read and enjoyed!

Something I learnt from Michel was that you should never give up on your dreams and always follow them because he had done that with his passion for drawing and wrestling which has now made him a very successful illustrator and professional wrestler. So this message is leaving:

I hope you enjoyed this blog and I dare you to blog what you enjoyed about this blog and what dream you have that you would want to accomplish? (I would love to travel the world and ocean).

🎨Ako Production - Artwork🎨

🎨Ako Production - Artwork🎨

Talofa lava unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you and welcome back to my blog!

Today is finally the day we have all been waiting for! It's FRIDAY!!!! (Cue the dance party) but just because it is Friday that doesn't mean were finish it means that we need to do the things we couldn't finish on the other days so for this morning block I am going to show you the artworks I have drawn and coloured about my natural disaster for the Ako Evening/Production,

The first artwork I made was the process of a Landslide. The pictures shows a car driving on the road, then the Earth starts shaking/vibrating, the rocks from the cliff starts falling down and then the last photo is showing that that road is now closed. I was very precise with my colours because I wanted my artwork to be more eye-catching. If I did this task again I would try to take my time and try not to rush my work. I enjoyed colouring and explaining the process of a landslide in a creative and fun way. Here is a picture of my artwork:

My next artwork was what I believe a landslide would look like. I think that in a landslide not only would the rock fall down but so would the dirt and grass leaving a crack in the mountain or cliff. I know the road is a bit crooked but I think the road would be one of the first things to be destroyed in a landslide since it is one of the closest things to the cliffs and mountains. What I love about this artwork is that the background is very me because it it very colourful and very hard and difficult to find out. Next time I would like to make sure that my road looks a bit more realistic because I think I can do better. Here is my Artwork:

I hope you enjoyed reading about my artworks and please comment what you think I can improve on and what artwork you like better and why?

Fun fact - Landslides are caused bye earthquakes and can cause a lot of damage to roads and especially people.

Maori Language Week Lessons with Chanel, Andrea, Tara and Clara

Kia ora unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!
Image result for kia ora gifsIn the middle and first block we had a Maori lesson with our 2 kapa haka tutors Andrea and Chanel in the first block to teach us about common conversations with people and some of the people apart of the Board of trustees that spoke a bit of Te reo Maori came to teach us about conversations that Majority of these students talk about now-a-days which is... TECHNOLOGY!

So in the first block when we were with Andrea and Chanel we had to go on the meeting are of our classroom so they could teach us all about common conversations like how to say in Te reo Maori like -

  • Hello - Tena Koe
  • How are you? - Kei te pehea koe
  • Good, tired, hungry etc
  • What hobbies do you have? - He aha
  • Netball and Rugby -
  • Whose your family? - Tena ko whanau
  • *introducing family and yourself or you life* -  Here's my pepeha as an example:

Image result for conversation in maoriAfter we had then had a conversation with our buddie (Mine was Hevani) and had to present our conversation to the class/homegroup we were in and everyone could tell that me and Hevani were petrified because even though that I am Maori but it was still nerve-racking but I knew that Hevani and I were still going to try our best. After that we had to create our own kapa haka using this haka that Andrea and Chanel gave us, the process went from making a beat to the rhythm, to creating actions, to saying it aloud, it was a lot of fun!
In the middle block we started off by doing some maths but then we had gone to the other side of the room and met with these 2 lovely women Tara and Clara who both have kids at Tamaki Primary. Tara and Clara were going to teach us all about how to say phrases including social media - as an example:
"Bro Whats the wifi password?"
"Bro can I use you charger, mine is dead"
We were learning these phrases we then had to do a task which involved us making a skit using the phrases that were there; My group was Akih, Fa'afiu and I. We were doing a skit relating to a charger situation, I don't know what the maori sentence's but I do remember the english so here they are:
Akih - "Where can I plug my charger?"
(Edith AKA Me) - "Bro can I use your charger I forgot my one"
(Fa'afiu) - "No I need it my one is dead, do you have a power bank?"
(Akih) - "No Sorry"
I had so much fun during these lessons and I can't wait to share my knowledge at this weeks Maori Language week assembly! Its going to be great!

🍽️🍽️TECHNOLOGY COOKING - NACHO'S🍽️🍽️
Kia ora unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

So as you know every week on Thursday we have Technology, My group is in cooking and last week had made Hotcakes but this week we made my personal favourite meal... NACHOS! Before we got started with the cooking we had to do somethings to get us started; We started off by walking into the backroom and put our netbook and that away since we don't need it for cooking unless we were going to cook our netbooks but anyway we put our netbooks away, put aprons on, got our equipment and went with our buddies (Mine was Stephney). After all that we went through the 4 rules we should follow:

  1. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
  2. READ INSTRUCTIONS CORRECTLY
  3. KNOW HOW TO MEASURE CORRECTLY
  4. SHOW RESPECT
I really need to remember these rules, especially the last one because they are really helpful!
This Stephney!

The ingredients you will need is:

Half an onion
Mince
Bake beans (Optional)
Tomato Puree and Tomato pasta together
and Cheese

There were 6 simple steps to make these delicious nacho's and they were:
- First Dice the onion and fry untill soft
-Add the mince till brown
-Add the Tomato paste and Puree
- Stir for 5 min
-Add cheese in the mince
-Serve on a plate with more cheese and enjoy!

I hope you liked this recipe and please tell me what you think! Would you follow this recipe? Let me know and I hope you enjoyed reading about this and hopefully you could test it out sometime!

🇳🇿MAORI LANGUAGE WEEK - PEPEHA🇳🇿

🇳🇿MAORI LANGUAGE WEEK - PEPEHA🇳🇿
Kia ora unicorns, aliens viewers or who or what ever you are and welcome back to my blog!

This week is again another VERY special week because instead of Tongan language week and celebrating the Tongan culture this week we are celebrating the culture of... TE REO MAORI!

We had to create a DLO and screencastify us saying our DLO and then paste it onto the presentation with the slide that said my name, so here is my slide -

For Te Reo Maori week our class had to create the traditional Maori pepeha and screencastify us saying it. I had a lot of bloopers because I kept on saying Tongan Language week instead of Maori Language week. Here is the blooper -

Here is my screencastify -

Here is the DLO I have created -

Something I think I can improve on is making sure to say the right thing because as I said I kept saying Tongan language week instead of Maori Language week!
What I enjoyed was seeing the class embrace my culture by learning how to say the words and yeah it was really exciting!
My next steps is to add more detail and trying to add a back story about my life in my pepeha.

🇹🇴TONGAN LANGUAGE WEEK TOMORROW🇹🇴

Malo Lelei unicorns, aliens, viewers or what or who ever you are and welcome back to my blog!

This, if you didn't know - it's TONGAN LANGUAGE WEEK! I'm super excited because even though I am not the culture of Tongan I really love learning about the different cultures of our school and finding out about there beliefs and why they love their culture so much.

I am not in the Tongan group but I know tomorrow we will be having a big assembly and a mufti day where we will be wearing mufti that relates the the theme which is of course, Tongan. Since my friends are all Tongan they will be presenting at the assembly, doing a Taulonga, Doing a sasa and the one I am very excited for a... TONGAN SKIT!!! I don't know what the skit is about but I know it will be great!

🍳Technology - Cooking🍳

🍳Technology - Cooking🍳
Talofa lava viewers, unicorns, aliens or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

Today is Thursday so we had technology. I was really excited for tech because we were switching groups and my group was going to... COOKING! I was really excited for cooking because what I heard from my classmates was that it was one of the best classes because not only that you got to learn something very fun and helpful in the future you would also be able to share your creation with your classmates and have a nice morning tea to fill up your tummy in an amazing way. We first had to pick someone/2 people to be with and I really wanted to be with my friends Grace and Stephney because I know we would all work well together but our new tech teacher had chosen our groups and I ended up being with Stephney and Mary Jane, but I was still very happy about that because I knew that we were still going to have fun!
This is Mary Jane

This is Stephney

The first thing we made for our cooking class was hotcakes. The recipe for hot cakes we used was:
  1.  Use 2 seperate bowls (one for dry ingredients and one for wet ingredients)
  2. For the dry bowl use 1 1/2 of self rising flour and a 1/2 cup of white sugar
  3. For the wet bowl use 1 cup of milk and one egg.
  4. Whisk them seperatly and then mix them together
  5. Put on oven on high and once it is hot put butter on and once you pour the batter onto the pan you turn it on low.
  6. Wait for pancakes to cook - add toppings and then you are finished!
For my first time I think I did a pretty good job and just like everyone else we burnt at least 2 which was quite funny. Here is a photo of my pancakes!

Maths with Ms. Komor

Malo lelei unicorns, aliens or viewers and welcome back to my blog!
So this week for Maths we were learning how to add and subtract fractions using the same denominator. I was really excited for this lesson because I am trying to improve on my fractions and I think this is a really good way to solve it! The question that I am on is Activity 4 Letter (K)

The hardest bit of this lesson was understanding the numbers and trying to find a way to make sure that the answer doesn't get confused and that I get the numbers right.
I enjoyed learning a new way to add or subtract fractions using the same denominator because it was something very new to me and it was very exciting.
My next steps for when we do this is to try and do my work a bit more faster to have time to learn more new ways to make fractions easy and fun during learning time.

The question I have is:
Here was an example of how to solve it:

 Here is my working out:

Hopefully this step by step will show you how I worked out this problem!
  • 5-3=2 and 21-7=14 which got me to the first answer of 2 14/23
  • Add the 2 14/23 to the 16/23 which =  2 30/23
  • I realised that 2 30/23 is an improper fraction so I had to convert it to a mixed fraction
  • I have to find out how many time 23 fits into 30 which is once which = 1 whole and the amount left over (7) will be the new numerator which is - 3 7/23.
So that was my working out!
