So something today at school I saw something horrible and was the amount of all this disgusting rubbish surrounding the courts and our community which is horrible. I cannot believe how rude people can be to our world because this is a very big deal and we shouldn't be thinking that we can get away with it. We should be thinking about the animals in the sea suffering from the pollution in our city and all of the world. The Earth is the only planet that has organic life so we should be taking care of it! 

I decided to create a poster that will present why I HATE littering and needs to stop. I know that it can't take one person to stop this so we need to unit and stop this awful habit and what it can do to the world!

SCHOOL FINISHED EARLY!

🏫🎒School Finished Early!🏫🎒

Good night everyone! Today school finished at 1:30 but my mom came late so ended up picking us up at 2:00! I was happy that school finished early because it means I get more time to blog and have a little break! I needed a break because today me and my classmate Constance had presented our Camp Report we had created for the board of trustees and we had school Photos. Other than that school was Excellent! 

School was really fun  and I really enjoyed it! I can't wait for school tomorrow because we will be doing more exciting things like TECHNOLOGY, MUSIC & BAND!!!

Falling 101

Hi guys and welcome back to 

TOday I decided to blog post about one of our gravity review activities which was 'Falling 101'.I finished this task but I forgot to blog it. I would like to say thank you to one of my closest friends Grace and the Teacher, Mrs. Fepuleai for helping me to finish this DLO.

It was kind of hard to understand it but with Ms Fepuleai and the help of my friends I was able to understand it!  What I really enjoy doing science with Ms Fepuleai is that we get to learn new things and do a whole lot of cool things to help us understand even better with our learning!

Evaluating Skills - Brainstorm

Konichiwa and welcome back to my blog,

Today I am going to be writing about what we have be learning about during our Matariki. I am in a group that doesn't have research to determine if the information is true or false because our task is about our opinion on the statement if "Matariki should be a public holiday in New Zealand", So what we had to do is list some reasons of why we agree and disagree of this statement. In my group that helped me create this brainstorm and right now helping with the oral presentation we are creating are:

Hevani, Akih, Toma, Mary-Jane and I!

What I enjoy about this task is getting to list my opinion and being able to work with people I never really work with. Something I didn't enjoy about this task was not really researching because I didn't really learn something new but I can learn from my classmates research. Something I hope to improve on next time is choosing a more of a difficult task so that I will be able to learn something new like I have previously said.

Today is the day we usually have music with our music teacher, Caleb. bue did not have music today because Caleb were picking students to record the camp chant and then he would put all of the voices together to make it sound as a team; Unfortunately Ms. Aireen and Ms. Komor didn't like the sound of it and they thought it sounded un-enthusiastic and very boring; so they invited Caleb to the KM Syndicates main class to listen how the team knows how to chant and that they sound much better together instead of seperate. After we performed I am pretty sure Caleb got the message because he was in shock and said "Go to the music room and we will re-record it", so we did. It took quite a while so after about our 4 try we went outside and did some stretches and did a power walk so that we wouldn't loose too much of our energy. We walked back inside and we were chanting better than the rest. We listened to it and it was the one. So we went back to class and did maths.

How night and day happens - Video

Have you ever wondered how day and night happens? Well 4 student leaders (Constance, Cerenity, Lydia and I) have created an oral presentation to present at Akanesi's ambassadors speech (Here is the link to Akanesi's experience!). If you don't know what an oral presentation is well and oral presentation is a presentation but instead of just having it there for your audience to read it you record yourself saying your speech. You can also do what these group of girls did and create pictures to make the video eye-catching and saying the script outloud.

No Technology tomorrow!

Unfortunately the Kia Manawanui Syndicate will NOT be having Technology tomorrow I repeat the Kia Manawanui Syndicate will NOT be having Technology tomorrow, the reasoning for this is because Tamaki College needs to focus on the exams for the students and don't have that much time to teach us, the year 7's and 8's, about cooking, graphics & woodwork. I am really sad that we are not having Tech tomorrow because I was looking forward to do woodwork tomorrow because I didn't go last week so I thought I would catch up with the others but I guess I can finish my workbook in the weekend so that it is ready for next week. Although I am sad to not have tech tomorrow I know that it is good for Tamaki College to have the exams and learning times with the teachers!

Making connections with Space Technologies!

Good afternoon and welcome to my blog!

This term our inquiry topic has been about Earth and Beyond. We kick-started this inquiry topic by getting into groups, I wanted to try and hop in a new group of people to learn there method of working as a team. The maximum of the groups were 4. The fabulous people in my group were Cerenity, Leilani and Grace. Ms. Aireen had casted up some ideas relating to the inquiry topic and we had to choose one which was really hard because they were all so amazing, I wanted to learn more about the milky way but then I saw an idea that really got attention from me and surprisingly my group wanted to do that topic as well! So that was the topic we chose; the topic we chose was... SPACE TECHNOLOGIES! We had to use the F.I.T Rocket that one of our yr 8 students, Akanesi, has created. The F.I.T Rocket stands for:
Fuel up
Ignite
Take off
This acronym is another way of Learn, Create, Share. 
Fueling up means to make connections with topic and asking key questions about it.
Ignite means to start investigating about the topic and researching about it.
and Take off means to reflect, share and publish.

Once we choose our topic and got into our groups we had to brainstorm about what we knew about our topic for example; I knew some of the creations that were apart of the Space Tech like a Spacecraft and a Satellite.

How does space technologies affect Earth?

What is the difference between a Spacecraft and a Space Shuttle?

What other space technologies are there?

What was the first space technology into space?

I know that our investigation are going to be hard to solve but if we never give up I believe that we can do it!

Tai Chi Lesson!

Malo lelei and welcome back to my blog!

Today I am going to be reflecting about Tai Chi. My next learning step for Tai Chi is being able to try to be more confident when I am speaking in front of an audience AKA the girls in the KM syndicate and Mr. Gordon. What I found challenging during this lesson was staying focused because I can get distracted very easily. What I enjoyed about this lesson was hearing about everyone positive comment because I would like to know more about what the girls in the syndicate have done recently.

Some tips for Tevita is that he could re-read his sentences to make sure the are understandable to the audience, add a bit more detail to his work and also making sure punctuation is in the correct place!

Maths - New solution for difficult multiplication problems!

Today for Maths we are learning about how to solve difficult multiplication problems in a easier and more simple way. 

It was a bit confusing for me at first because I was not there when Ms. Komor taught the lesson to the class. After a while I got the hang of it because our teacher helper, Ms. Jade (Mrs. Fepuleai daughter).

Here is an example of a problem and how I would solve it from this worksheet:

 QUESTION - An orchard has 6 containers with 145 apples in each container. How many apples do they have in total?

SOLUTION - You split the numbers in 1's, 10th's and 100th's for example:

6x5=30

6x40= 240

6x100=600

Now that you have had answered the problems split now you add them together:

3+240=270

270+600=870

Now that you have answered you now have your answer!

ANSWER - The answer to this problem is that the orchard now has 870 apples!
