🛡️Biosecurity - Reading task🛡️

🛡️Biosecurity - Reading task🛡️
Talofa lava unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

For Reading we have been learning about Biosecurity, and from my understanding I think Biosecurity is defined as a security which helps protects us from pests, diseases and unwanted creatures. Biosecurity is very important to New Zealand and we need it so the human population in Aotearoa don't get sick! Here is the link to the text we read - Click to read about Biosecurity! - For my Reading I have also included a screencastify of me reading my work outloud.

Biosecurity - Follow Up Questions!

What is biosecurity?
Biosecurity is a security that helps us to keep us  protected from diseases, pests and
unwanted creatures. Without Biosecurity we would have a lot of diseases spreading around
and they would be affecting our agriculture, our health and even our human population!

Why is it important to protect our environment?
It is very important to our environment to have biosecurity because since we already have our
native animals, plants and fungi we have to keep those things safe. We now have a few
predators on our land which has made New Zealand more unique; unfortunately this also
means that our species don’t have as much of defence as they should which causes some
diseases, infections and pests to come onto the border.

Explain 2 different kind of technology of technology involved with Biosecurity.
The first kind of technology we use which is involved with Biosecurity is a scanner. We us a
scanner to detect whether or not a certain person or yourself is carrying a certain disease
with them that could affect others.

One other type of Technology you can use people use within biosecurity is a microscope; You
use a microscope to look inside of the little disease's inside the blood that they take out of
an/some animal(s) with a syringe with a needle. This is how they see if their are diseases
in animals.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post/follow up questions about Biosecurity and I would enjoy if you guys would tell me something new that you learnt about Biosecurity!

💭Growth Mindset Bubble pt.8💭
Kia ora viewers, unicorns, aliens or what or whoever you are and welcome back to my blog!

Today I will be doing my 8th growth mindset quote bubble (I think?). I am going to be using the quote, "A Champion is not defined by their wins, but how they have recovered once they have fallen". I love this quote and I believe that this quote sends good vibes. I feel it sends good vibes because I feel that a you don't have to win a lot of awards to become a champion, its based on how many times you recovered which makes you a champion!

This quote was originally made by Serena Williams and here is a photo of where I found the original quote:

Here is my recreation of that quote:

I hope you also love this quote as much as I do and feel free to comment down below what you think I can improve on and why you like the quote?

Malo lelei unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

As you know it is Halloween tomorrow, but that also means it is going to be the last of October tomorrow and I have NOT reached the goal of 15 blogs per month so far, so today I am trying to blog as much as possible and not only am I going to try blog 15 this month but I want to blog about 15-20 blogs. To do this goal I know that in total I have the blog amount of 9 so far so I will try blog 6 or 7 today and 4 or 3 tomorrow which will then equal up to 20 blogs.

I really hope that I accomplish this goal I'm trying to achieve and hopefully it will be all worth it in the end!

🏈 Kiwisport - Flag Football 🏈

🏈 Kiwisport - Flag Football 🏈
Kia ora viewers, unicorns, aliens or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!
Today for our kiwisport we had tried our new sport which was... FOOTBALL! At first I thought that they were talking about the Soccer Football but I then realised it was the American Football.

Our coaches names were, Coach Will and Coach Karl. They were teaching us about how to throw the ball, because it is shaped like a mini rugby ball but instead you throw it over hand. You first place your index finger just above the top white line, you then use your middle, pinkie and ring finger laced on the laces, while your thumb is tucked under the ball; make sure there is space between the ball and your palm. Once you know how to hold the ball you then point the ball outwards at the back of your head and then slowly rotate the ball inward and throw. We then learnt to catch, you catch it with a diamond shaped figure of your hand and then put the ball in between the middle of you index and middle finger, you then tuck the opposite side of the tip into your inner elbow and tuck the ball for it to be in between you chest and inner arm.

Once we had learnt how to catch and pass we had played a game of flag football (Flag football is like American football without the tackling). We were divided into 2 teams. In my team was Coralee, Demetrius, Aumau, Tevita, Kaleb and Fe'ao; We had to then split the team but since the team was uneven we had 3 in one team and 4 in the other of our big group. I was with Fe'ao and Kaleb so I was apart of the 3 person team. The opponent team had gotten 2 touchdowns and our 4 people team also got 2 touchdowns, it was AWESOME.

I hope you enjoyed this recount and please comment what you think I can improve on!

Question - Do you like flag football?

Malo lelei unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

Halloween is coming up so you guys need to pack all the scariest stuff you have and get your costumes ready because it is time to scare people and to get rewarded with a sweet treat. Our school will not be halloween and neither is my family, but however on the day of halloween the school will be having a red day since Tobruk had won the amount of the tokens last term; due to this, since the colour of Tobruk is red, EVERYONE at the school has to wear red. Tobruk will also be having a pizza party.

Athletics from 2 years ago!
I have a question for you, What do you wanna be for halloween? I seem to like the Harley Quinn Costumes (Not the old one),because she is very wicked and I think she is one of the best villains. I know that she doesn't send good vibes but I think she does have heart and she had been a hilarious addition to the Suicide Squad crew in the movie. As I said though we don't celebrate halloween but if we did I would love to see people being, Harley Quinn.

Kia ora unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

I know that the Niuean language week was 2 weeks ago, but I really want to share with you a padlet that me and my buddy, Lydia, had made about the different technologies in Niue. I had worked on the construction and energy and power technologies. I had fun learning about the Niueans different kind of Technologies they have.

Image result for niueI had fun with this task because I got to learn a lot more about Niue. What I think I can improve more on is to try to be more quicker while working so I can create more texts about the Niue's technologies! My next steps are to add more examples about the topic!

Here is the padlet we had created!

🍫CHOCOLATE MUFFINS!🍫

🍫CHOCOLATE MUFFINS!🍫
Malo lelei unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

It is yet another Thursday again so the KM syndicate has another technology lesson where I am in the cooking class. Today we had made Chocolate muffins as you can see from the title. My buddy was yet again Grace and I thought we had work really collaboratively together.
Now let's go onto the recipe!

CHOCOLATE MUFFINS!
  1. 2c of SRF(Self Raising Flour)
  2. 1c of Sugar
  3. 1/2 of Oil
  4. 1c of Milk
  5. 1 Egg
  6. 1/4 or 1/2c of Cocoa
  7. Combine all the ingredients
  8. Put the ingredients into the muffin tray
  9. Bake 180℃ for 15 min in the Oven
  10. Take out and enjoy!
You can also add some Hershey's chocolate syrup to add a more chocolatey taste, just as long as you have a cup of water next to you!

I thought our muffins ended up really well although we did a bit of chocolate cocoa.

I hope you enjoyed and please comment what you think I can improve on!

🖼️Te Tuhi - Follow up Questions🖼️
As you know today we had Te Tuhi but right now I am going to be answering some follow up questions. The questions I will be answering are:

- What have you learnt about abstract painting?
- How does technology play a significant role in abstract painting?
- How do you make something abstract?
- What did you find challenging?
- What did you like?
- What would you do next time if you did this project again?

I am going to have a different slot answering the different questions and I hope you enjoy reading!
Image result for abstract art
What have you learnt about abstract painting?
What I have learnt about abstract painting is that it does not need to be a perfect artwork and that the more unrealistic it is, the more abstract and different your artwork will possibly be.

How does technology play a significant role in abstract painting?
I believe that technology has a significant role in abstract art because without the paintbrushes or all the tools you use for artwork the abstract won't be resulted because how are you gonna paint without the materials.

How do you make something abstract?
In order to make something abstract you just have to be as creative as you can be. Abstract art is basically just art being flipped and turned sideways, It is not realistic as you think it is and it is up to you whether what you think it is.

What did you find challenging?
What I found challenging about this task was trying to paint inside the lines and making sure that the colours weren't side to side for the image.

What did you like?
What I liked about this lesson was being able to create my own abstract art and seeing all the colours blend well together.
Image result for abstract art

What would you do next time if you did this project again?
If I were to do this project again I would try to make sure to check the paint colour on one side before painting the side I was originally gonna put one because I tend to do that which makes the colours next to each other.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and please comment down what you think I can improve on and one thing you enjoyed reading in this blog post!

🎨Te Tuhi - Abstract Art Reflection🎨

🎨Te Tuhi - Abstract Art Reflection🎨
Today it is Tuesday and so the Kia Manawanui Syndicate had a trip to Te tuhi to create and learn about Abstract art. We had based our abstract art on technology since that is our new topic for term 4 for inquiry.

The first group to go to Te tuhi was group 1 which was my group; Some students had brang their water bottles while others decided not to, I decided to bring it because you can get a little thirsty on trips. When had arrived at Te Tuhi we had saw this MASSIVE sculpture made out of the material of a rice bag. Most people didn’t seem to recognise what it was so they thought it was a top of a building, sideways cake or a top of a tower. When Salome had come she had leaded us to the school programme area where we would be learning how to create and learn about abstract art. She showed us some examples from different artist, they were unrealistic and really show the abstract in the artwork. Their were 5 rules to make our own kind of abstract art and those were:
  1. Outline the stencils of technology like, Phone, Game Controller, TV and many more.
  2. Mine is the one on the right (Green, Pink and Yellow)
Use a ruler to create 2 lines go sideways and up on the paper.
  1. Go over the sketches with a vivid
  2. Erase pencil traces from under the vivid.
  3. Colour in your drawing with 4-5 different colours of paint.

A rule that Salome told us about when we do abstract art is to not put the same colour next to each other because it will no look as good as you want it to be. I used the colours Yellow, Baby Blue, Light green, Lime green and a bright pink. I chose these colours because these colours had reminded me of summer which is my favourite season, and I thought the colours would blend really well together.

After we had created our own abstract art relating to technology we had then been leaded around the exhibit where we were shown different kind of sculptures, artworks or videos made from famous artists with very odd things. 2 things I liked viewing from the Te Tuhi art exhibit was this sculpture made from a Chinese man named 'JJ', The sculpture that he had made was the sculpture you first see when you walk into the entrance; Salome had told us that JJ had actually made that sculpture to show one of the towers from the UK. The second sculpture I had enjoyed viewing was this sculpture called, 'Sweet Jesus', The artist had made this sculpture out of Brown sugar and had sculpted out the word JESUS; This Sculpture took 3-4 months. The lady had made this sculpture out of sugar because her Nana was forced to work at this sugar cane shop so the lady thought that she would make it out of brown sugar for her Nana.

After all I really enjoyed this morning block we had at Te Tuhi because I got to learn how to create abstract art and also to know more about the exhibits they have at Te Tuhi!

🤓MATHS! - Decimals🤓

🤓MATHS! - Decimals🤓
Today for maths we are no longer learning about fractions and how to convert improper fractions into mixed fractions but now we are learning to read decimals to 3 places. The SC we have used for maths is:
I can... Read decimals to 3 places.
I can... explain the value of the numbers.

Image result for decimalsWe first started of with a practise by Ms. Komor by her putting a number up on the board in word forms while the class or someone that Ms choose to solve what it is. I was really confused since I had not been to the lesson yesterday so Ms. Komor had helped me; she told me that before I learn how to transform word numbers into proper number and solving them from least to greatest, I should just start by learning the fraction and the value to a certain number, so I did. Although I got part of this I was still confused but I just thought to myself that I have to at least try. So I solved my first question with
Ms. Komor and my peers;

Lydia, Grace, Hevani and Stephney.

This is Grace
This is Lydia

This is Hevani
This is Stephney

Something I enjoyed about this maths session was getting to learn something new for maths because you have to learn something new every now and then so that is what we were doing. I really want to get more information and knowledge because right now I am in the PIT and could use some help to get out.

Image result for improve

Something I think I can improve on is of course, learning how to solve and process the thought of decimals because as I said I am in the pit and I just need some help and more knowledge about decimals to get out of there.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet again I hope you enjoyed this blog and hopefully can tell me what you think I can improve on.
Question - Are you are noob or pro when it comes to decimals?

💻Technology - New Inquiry topic💻
Fakalofa lahi atu unicorns, aliens, viewers or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

It is the 2nd day of school and today we are focusing on our new Inquiry topic which is, "What is Technology?". We started off by naming all of the different kind of technology we have at home. Once we listed all of the different types of Technology at home that we have we had created our own definition which was, Something that has a useful purpose. This definition means that they're are always different kind of technology for example, the different kind of technology's are:

  1. Medical
  2. Electrical
  3. Mechanical
  4. Transportation
  5. Construction
  6. Mechanical
Now I am going to be sharing to you about the different technologies that I have and why I use them!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Image result for chromebookFirst of all I use my netbook to try and finish off uncompleted work from school so I am all ready for school the next day. I also use my netbook to talk to my friends so that not only so can we communicate but also so that they can help me with some of my work and I can help them with there's.  Although we have our netbook to finish off uncompleted tasks I also use it to keep me fascinated while having a break and watch a bit of Netflix and Youtube. My netbook is apart of the Electrical Technology because it involves chargers, Wifi and wires.

Image result for ps4The second type of technology object that I use is none other than mine and my brothers Ps4. I like playing on the Ps4 because I am really obsessed with gaming ever since the game 'Fortnite' came out. I know it isn't that good to be gaming a lot because it can make you very distracted but that is why I like to play within a maximum of time. Mine and my brothers Ps4 is apart of the Electrical Technology because it involves chargers, Wifi and wires.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Related imageIf I were to improve on my netbook I would make it have no wifi needed. I feel this will help out because than I can share my knowledge wherever and whenever because no internet would be needed. I could also use this way of my netbook with no internet to also stay in contact with people since you can actually video call people and etc. I think this would be a great improvement to my netbook :).

🔪TECHNOLOGY - Mince Gravy🔪

🔪TECHNOLOGY - Mince Gravy🔪
Fakalofa lahi atu viewers, unicorns, aliens or who or whatever you are and welcome back to my blog!

Since it is Thursday yet again and we are back at school we have technology and are making a new dish for cooking class. Today we were making Mince Gravy with rice. My buddy to make this dish was none other than one of my best friends, Grace! I had never tried Mince gravy before so it was a new dish to make and to eat. I was excited and intrigued.
Once again we had to follow through the 4 main rules while in cooking class which are:
  1. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
  2. READ INSTRUCTIONS CORRECTLY
  3. KNOW HOW TO MEASURE CORRECTLY
  4. SHOW RESPECT
This is a very important part of cooking class to me  because if our teacher is going to teach us a new recipe to a meal every week we should show her the respect by showing her rules that she gives us.

Now onto the meal and instructions:
  1. Peel off the skin of the onion then dice
  2. Pour diced onions into frying pan
  3. Stir till a nice brown colour
  4. Add mince
  5. Add a variety of vegetables (Carrots, Corn and Peas)
  6. Add a liquidy gravy made by oxo powder and water
  7. Mix till Gravy is thick
  8. Add rice and Mince gravy.
  9. Enjoy!
This is a really delicious and easy meal to make and I hope you enjoyed reading this blog as much as I enjoyed making and writing about this certain topic!

Kia ora.
